Amy Elizabeth's Story

Amy Elizabeth Palmatier, 30, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.
She was born in Gloucester on November 22, 1986, daughter of Joseph and Judith (Gormley) Palmatier of Gloucester.
Amy attended Rockport Elementary School and Rockport High School and graduated from Gloucester High School, Class of 2006. She became a very talented Irish step dancer, winning many awards and competing all the way up to the National Level. She also participated in Native American dance, starting at the age of 8. She became a Certified Pharmacy Technician from North Shore Community College. She worked at Walgreens in Gloucester and then at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center. Her last job was working for Comfort Keepers as a Home Health Aide. She loved caring for her clients. After a back injury, Amy became an at home representative for Younique with her friends the Lash Ladies.
When she wasn't busy working, Amy loved doing things with her boyfriend, Michael. They went fishing, especially for stripers. Amy loved metal detecting. She was also an avid marksman and a past member of the Hamilton Wenham Rod and Gun Club. She loved spending time and playing with her beloved cat, Bailey.
Amy also enjoyed spending time with her family both her own and Michael's family. Amy was planning to return to school in the fall for Biotechnology.
She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her fiance, Michael Bergmann of Gloucester; her parents, Joseph and Judith (Gormley) Palmatier of Gloucester; three brothers, Sean Palmatier and his wife, Kathryn Murdock of Beverly, Jason Palmatier and his fiancee, Kate McInerney and their children, Tyler and Connor, Adam Palmatier and his girlfriend, Tina Brancaleone and Adam's daughter, Anessa; her aunts, Jane Gaeta and her husband, Richard of Marblehead, Caroline Levesque and her husband, Frank of Claverack, N.Y.; her uncles, William Gormley and his wife, Cathy Jo of Germany with their children, James and Eve Gormley of Georgia, Jane and Merek Bullion of Florida, Lynne Gormley of Montana, John and Michelle Gormley of Seattle, David Gormley and his wife Maryanne of Mendon, Mass. with their children Christopher and Mathew, Allan Palmatier and his wife, Amanda with Allan's children Keith and Cassandra.
She is also survived by her fiancé Michael's parents, Hank Bergmann and Hannah Goodale, Deborah Bergmann and David Swift; his sister, Lindsey Bergmann; his brother, Mark Bergmann and Gracelyn Estes with Mark's son, Ayden, all of Gloucester.
Visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester on Monday, June 19th from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There will be no funeral services and the burial will be held privately.
