Andrea Louise (Satama)'s Story

Mrs. Andrea Louise (Satama) Sponagle, 65, of Gloucester, passed away on Monday morning, November 13, 2017, in Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long battle with Kidney Disease. She was the wife of Dana A. Sponagle with whom she shared 45 years of marriage.
Andrea was born May 23, 1952, in Gloucester. She was the daughter of the late Helen (Grover) and Andrew Satama. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester, as well as a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1970. Andrea worked as a crossing guard and yard lady at Veterans Memorial School for over 20 years. She later worked as a receptionist at Americold Logistics for several years until having to retire due to her ill health. She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting and crocheting, but most of all she enjoyed taking care of her family.
In addition to her loving husband, Dana, Andrea is survived by her three daughters, Amanda Sponagle-Haskell and her wife, Jenelle of Beverly, Melinda Sponagle and Melissa Sponagle, both of Gloucester; her nieces, Dori Elswick and her husband, Josh of Waxahachie, Texas, and Kaylee Allen of Gloucester; her many cousins, The Marshall’s, the Silva’s, the Fransis’ and the Grover’s. Andrea is also survived by many lifelong friends. In addition to her mother and father, she was predeceased by her brother, John Allen.
Andrea’s Memorial Service will be in the Cape Ann Bible Church, 8 Thompson St., Gloucester, on Friday, November 17, 2017, at 11 a.m. There will be a collation at the Church immediately following Services. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
