Angelina "Jean"'s Story
GLOUCESTER- Angelina "Jean" Lopes, 90, of Gloucester, wife of the late Leslie J. Lopes passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Den Mar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Jean was born in Yonkers, New York on November 28, 1927, daughter of the late Salvatore and Teresa (Gasparre) Corrente.
Jean loved nothing more than a houseful of family and friends. Her home was always filled with music, love and good food. She was a loving mother, a doting grandmother and a great friend. Jean will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, John Requejo and his wife, Chryl, Raoul Requejo and his wife Deborah; her daughter, Leslie Silva and her husband, Paul; her daughter-in-law, Leslie Lopes; 10 grandchildren, John Requejo, Lauren Brown and her husband, Adam, Tyler Requejo and his companion, Heather Buthmann, Kelly Curley and her husband, Steven, Jaclyn Olson and her husband DJ, Heather Lopes, Ashley Lopes, William Murray and his companion, Leah Ham, Jason Silva and Lisa McCormack; 11 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Gianna, and Angelina Murray, Mackenzie, Natalie and Connor Curley, Chase and Emma Brown, Rowan Silva, Quinno Olson and Andrew Carini; her sister, Antoinetta Paisley of NY; her brother, Salvatore Corrente and his wife Eleanor of NY; her dear friends, Edith Dulong, Mildred Ball, Lois Santos and Joanne Oliver and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her son, Guy Lopes; sisters, Fay Whalen and Mary Carigne; her brothers, Louis, James, Joseph and Frank Corrente; dear friends, Marilyn Collins, Mary Voller, Nina Benson and Barbara Korpi.
In keeping with her wishes, services and burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Den Mar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activities Fund, 44 South Street, Rockport, MA 01966.
