Ann Piper Skerry, age 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at the Kaplan House in Danvers, Mass., after a brief illness. Ann was born in Concord, Mass., on March 3, 1951, to Mervyn F. Piper and Margaret (Kerr) Piper of Gloucester. She resided in Gloucester, where she grew up and lived most of her life. She graduated from Gloucester High School in 1969. She loved living in Gloucester and adored her childhood summers swimming at Brace Cove and Niles Beach; she enjoyed many adventures on Eastern Point, where she had dear memories of her childhood home, loving parents and family friends. In her later years, Ann enjoyed shopping with friends and family, doing crafts and spending time with her two grandchildren, with whom she adored. Ann was a loving Mom and Grammy. She will be deeply missed by her surviving daughter, Margaret Palazola and husband, Bryan; son, Nathaniel Skerry and Kelly (Sonia); grandchildren, Piper and Noah; cousins, Allison George Wells II of DePere, Wisc., Paula Wells of Milwaukee, Wisc., Rebecca Wells Windinwood of Ojai, Calif.; along with Slade, Michael, Nathaniel and Mary Jane Gorton; and her dear friends, Julie and Jim Dailey, with whom she shared a very special friendship.
At Ann's request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent directly to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers MA 01923, in Ann's memory.
