Barbara (Dagley)'s Story
Mrs. Barbara (Dagley) DeSantis of Gloucester passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, in Seacoast Nursing Home with her loving family at her side. She was the wife of the late Leo DeSantis.
She was born in Gloucester, daughter of the late William and Florence (Robinson) Dagley. She attended Gloucester High School. Barbara and Leo moved to Vero Beach, Fla., in 1974.
Barbara was a cook and worked in school and seafood kitchens for many years.
She took great pride in her home. She enjoyed painting lighthouses and seascapes. Barbara made the best apple pies. Her favorite subject was her only child, Bob Joseph.
She is survived by her son, Bob and his wife, Linda of Michigan; her beloved grandchildren, Craig, Eric and Amy Joseph. Barbara is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Maria, Jaylin and Mason, all of Michigan; her loving goddaughter, Barbara Vadala of New Hampshire; and her sisters, Marie Amero of Florida, Doris Aspesi of Rockport and Crissa Parsons of New Hampshire. She is also survived by her brothers, William Dagley of Maine and Curtis Dagley of Gloucester; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Jeanette P. Worthley and her brother, George Dagley.
She will be missed dearly. Her family would like to thank the entire staff at Seacoast Nursing Home for all of the kindness and care they gave to Barbara.
Barbara’s graveside service will be in Beechbrook Cemetery, Essex Ave, (Route 133), Gloucester on Friday, October 21, 2016, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. For online condolences and register book, please visit www.pikenewhall.com.
