Bruce's Story

GLOUCESTER- Bruce K. Tarr, 60, of Gloucester passed away on Monday, December 8, 2018 at home. He was the loving husband to Gislaine S. "GiGi" (Simoes) Tarr with whom he shared 15 years of marriage.
Bruce was born February 1, 1957 in Gloucester. He was the son of the late Edmund S. and Eleanor (Riggs) Tarr. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and attended Gloucester Schools.
Bruce work at Tony's Variety on Washington Street for the past 15 years. He previously worked as a Machinist at Gloucester Engineering.
He served in the United States Army and held the rank of SP 4.
He was a kind, loving honest man who treasured the time he spent with his family and friends especially his cherished grandchildren. His passion was collecting guns, he was a long time active member at the Cape Ann Sportsman Club. Bruce was also a State and National Champion Skeet shoot champion. He was a member of the Gloucester United Methodist Church.
In addition to his loving wife, GiGi, Bruce is survived by his two daughters, Dalila Costa of Peabody and Daniela Costa of Brazil; his four sisters, Shirley Tarr of Amesbury, Deborah Cluett and her husband, John of Gloucester, Patricia Rexford of Port Charlotte, Fla. and Vicki Tarr of Port Charlotte, Fla.; his cherished and adored granddaughters, Aryanna Scotti and Louise Costa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great friends.
Bruce was predeceased by his brother, Edmund S. Tarr, Jr.
Bruce's visiting hours will be in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St. Gloucester on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 1 to 4 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
