Carol T. "Terry"'s Story
Carol T. “Terry” (Maloney) Hubbard, 75, of Rockport, formerly of Pawling, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017, at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was born in Bristol, Connecticut on October 5, 1941, daughter of the late James and Gertrude McGuire Maloney. She was a graduate of St. Vincent's Hospital X Ray Technician Program following high school in Bridgeport. Terry spent her career as a language specialist working with dyslexic students at Trinity Pawling School in Pawling, New York and later as a medical technician in a family practice in Brewster, New York. After relocating to Rockport, Mass., in her retirement, Terry enjoyed working at various shops on Bearskin Neck, where she had a great love of Rockport, and spending time with her many friends. In her spare time, she volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul Society. More than anything, Terry loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren who meant the world to her. She touched many people with her cheerful disposition and infectious laugh. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey M. Hubbard and his wife, Julie of Hamilton; her daughter, Sharon L. Gaines and her husband, Jim of Newburyport; three grandchildren, Colin, Giles and Ginger Hubbard; her sister, Gertrude “Trudy” Witalis and her husband, Karl of Connecticut; her nieces, Trudy Ann Segla, Jennifer Bistyga, Karen Genova and Therese Pineau, all of Connecticut.
Private services will be held for immediate family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o Holy Family Parish, 60 Prospect Street, Gloucester, MA 01930.
