SEQUIM, WA - Carole Ann Palmquist, 75, beloved wife of David Palmquist (now deceased), passed away peacefully on February 21 at home in Sequim, Wash, surrounded by family. At sunrise, the sky was awash with hues of pink, coral and orange. Snow began to fall, continuing into the next day. Carole was lovingly cared for at home through all stages of Alzheimer's disease and metastatic cancer by her daughter, Julie Lawrence, son-in-law, Marc Lawrence and granddaughter. Her daughter, Wendy Spencer, was at her side at her time of passing.
Born in Gloucester in 1942, Carole spent much of her life in Andover where she and David raised their blended family of 8. In 1994, they moved to Washington, making Sequim their home. Carole will be remembered for her strength and devotion as a loving wife, mother and grandmother; her gift as a stained-glass artist; and for her love of nature, music and cooking. Carole leaves behind eight children, Laura Laundry, David Palmquist, Jr, Sherri Dunn, Denise McSheffrey, Wendy Spencer, Jeff Palmquist, Robert Spencer, and Julie Lawrence plus grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one sister, Joanie Blake.
Donations may be made on Carole's behalf to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County at vhocc.org or by mail: 540 East 8th St., Port Angeles, WA 98362.
