Christopher Curran Davis, 45, formerly of Beverly Farms, passed away on September 10, 2016, after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Chris was the loving husband of Jill (Knox) Davis of Danvers and devoted father of Christopher E. Davis, a third grade student at Riverside Elementary School in Danvers.
Christopher was a graduate of Beverly High School where he played soccer and hockey. He graduated from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and was employed as a nuclear applications engineer at Weir Valves and Controls in Ipswich.
An avid golfer and gardener, Chris loved being the coach of his son’s baseball team in Danvers. Most of all he was devoted to his wife and son and enjoyed every minute he spent with them.
All during his battle with cancer, Chris displayed an amazing amount of endurance, courage, optimism and strength.
He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Hein-Hansen of Naples, Fla., and Beverly Farms; his father, Walter R. Davis and his wife, Betty of Rockport; his sister, Ashley E. Davis of Rockport; his mother-in-law, Barbara A. Knox-Cook of Everett; his father-in-law, Edward M. Knox and his wife, June of Strafford, N.H. He was the nephew of Robert and Ann Grahampf of Orleans and Esther Malloy of Bradenton, Fla., further survived by uncles William and Thomas, and aunts, Mary, Virginia, Ann and Barbara; many cousins; his sister-in-law, Kerry Daniel and her husband, Robert and nephew, Brett, all of Milford, N.H. He is also survived by his Beverly High School friends and his co-workers from his place of employment in Ipswich.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers, Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in the Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
