Colleen Bamford Frithsen, formerly of Rockport, Mass. passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence in Walpole, N.H.
Mrs. Frithsen was born in Perth, Scotland on November 25, 1935 to Frank and Elizabeth Bamford. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret, and is survived by her brother, Eric. Colleen was the beloved wife of the late Eugene Frithsen of Rockport. She left Scotland and came to America after earning her degree in education from the University of Glasgow. She went on to teach at Swampscott and Rockport schools and at St. Mel’s in Gloucester. Colleen was an avid biker, swimmer, and adventurer who had a great love for nature. She also enjoyed hosting her extended family from Canada and the UK at her Rockport home.
She is survived by sons, Craig Bamford Frithsen and his wife, Jenny of Steamboat Springs, Colo. and Ivar Leslie Frithsen and his wife Emily of Walpole, N.H.; her brother Eric Bamford and his wife, Veronica of London; her four grandchildren, Ruby, Ben, Connor, and Angus Frithsen; and her brother-in-law, Carl Frithsen of Rockport.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 9th at 10 a.m. at the graveside in Beech Grove Cemetery in Rockport. A reception will follow at Pigeon Cove Circle Center, 6 Breakwater Ave, Pigeon Cove.
