Cosmo B.'s Story
Cosmo B. Pallazola, 79, husband of Margaret M. (Cagney) Pallazola of Manchester-by-the Sea, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Gloucester on May 23, 1938, son of the late Joseph and Vincie (Filetto) Pallazola.
Cosmo was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1957, and of Wentworth Institute of Technology, receiving his civil engineering degree.
Cosmo worked at Modern Continental Construction Company for over 35 years. As a senior vice president of the company, he managed many significant projects in Boston, including the “Big Dig.” During his spare time, he enjoyed being out on his lobster boat with his sons and grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing cards with his childhood friends at the St. Peter's Club, where he was a lifelong member. Traveling with his wife to St. Martin was something they truly loved doing and continued to do for over 25 years.
Cosmo will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret M. Pallazola of Manchester-by-the- Sea; three sons, twins, Thomas Pallazola and his wife, Noel, Joseph Pallazola and his wife, Grace, all of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Cosmo M. Pallazola and his wife, Meghan of Dover, N.H.; grandchildren, Sabrina Pallazola, Cosmo R. Pallazola, Sophia Pallazola, Cagney Pallazola, AJ Pallazola, Egan Pallazola, and Cosmo J. Pallazola; two sisters, Josie Pallazola and Gaye Lumbruno, both of Gloucester; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister, Rose Sinagra and his brother, Jerome Pallazola.
His family would like to thank Kathy Reardon for the wonderful care she provided Cosmo over the last year.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester will be held on Tuesday, July 25, from 4 to 8 p.m.
His funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, School Street, Manchester-by-the-Sea on Wednesday, July 26, at 10 a.m. The burial will be immediately after at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Manchester-by-the-Sea.
