Gloucester - Dawn M. Aiello, 63, of Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at her residence.
She was born in Chelsea, Mass., on October 21, 1955, daughter of John Aiello and the late Patricia (Gallant) Aiello.
Dawn was a graduate of Gloucester High School, class of 1973, and also attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
In her earlier years, she worked for Captain's Lodge as their breakfast cook and later at the Addison Gilbert Hospital as a receptionist.
Dawn enjoyed crocheting, making blankets and gifting them to her family. She also loved traveling to Aruba and during the summer you could always find her at Good Harbor Beach.
She was known as "The Great" Auntie Dawn to Kelby, Robert, Zoey, Jacob and Layla, and was a self-appointed grandmother to Cameron Sweet and his brothers, Brian and Andrew.
Dawn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sister, Rochelle Cameron and her husband Allen of Beverly; her brother, Jay Aiello of Gloucester; nephews, Jeremy Cameron and his wife Kelly of Beverly and Jayme Cameron and his wife Jennifer of Beverly; niece, Kelly Blake of Florida; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 17, at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish. A visitation will be held prior to the Mass in St. Ann's Church from 9 to 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery following the Mass.
To honor Dawn, who favored bright, vibrant colors, please wear your fun colorful outfits. Don't forget your accessories! She also enjoyed sharing her jewels and baubles.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o Holy Family Parish, 60 Prospect Street, Gloucester, MA 01930.

I'm so sorry to hear about Dawn's passing. We were neighbors when we lived on Granite Street. She knitted my son a beautiful blanket which we still have. May she rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of seeing Dawn every morning at AGH. She was truly a wonderful and kind woman. I am so grateful to have known her. I am so sorry to her family for such a tragic and unexpected loss.
