Mrs. Deborah L. (Allen) Demetri, 60, of Gloucester passed away suddenly at home on Friday, October 21, 2016. She was the former wife of the late Stephen Demetri.
She was born March 20, 1956, in Gloucester, daughter of the late Warren and Barbara (Gaffney) Allen. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and a graduate of Gloucester High School.
Deb’s true devotion was being a mother, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a simple woman who always put everyone before herself. She also enjoyed the waterfront and the beautiful beaches in Gloucester.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Nicole S. Johnson and her husband, Len of Gloucester; her two sisters, Catherine Spanks of Gloucester and Cynthia Newell and her husband, Dana of the Villages, Florida; her two loving grandchildren, Tyler S. Johnson and Cameron D. Johnson; her longtime companion cat, Sammie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Deborah’s Memorial Service will be in Gloucester United Methodist Church, 436 Washington St., Gloucester on Friday, October 28, 2016, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations in Deborah’s memory may be made to the Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930.
