Born in Beverly, he was the son of Gordon J. Wildes Sr. and the late Mary (Mosko) Wildes. He was raised and educated in Essex prior to moving to Lynn and Raymond, N.H.
Mr. Wildes had been employed as a truck driver for New England Solid Waste for many years until the time of his illness.
Donnie had a passion for motorcycles and rode whenever he could; in the winter he switched to his snow mobile which was the main reason for moving to New Hampshire. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, which he took great joy in spoiling. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Carolyn and father, Gordon, Donnie is survived by his sons, Bill Mitchell of Peabody and Dale Mitchell of Raymond, N.H.; three grandchildren, Carlton, Taryn and Leah; his brothers, Gordon Wildes Jr. of Essex, Gary Wildes and his wife, Kim of Gloucester, James Gallagher and his wife, Patty of Midland, N.C., and David Gallagher of Gloucester; his sister, Diane Gallagher of Essex; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the son of the late Myrna J. (Edwards) Wildes.
Relative and friends are invited to a celebration of Donnie’s life which will be held at the Salem Willows on Saturday, September 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St. (Route 62), Danvers. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Donnie’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
