Doreen's Story

Miss Doreen C. Spoon, 76, of Gloucester, passed away on Tuesday July 11, 2017 in Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness.
Doreen was born September 8, 1940 in Gloucester. She was the daughter of the late George W. and Ethel (Pacheco) Spoon. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and attended Gloucester Schools.
She worked at DeMarco’s Cleaners as a Presser for many years until her retirement. She previously worked for Good Harbor Filets.
She was the care taker for her late mother for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her dry sense of humor. She also enjoyed playing cards especially Po-ke-no, shopping and going to yard sales.
Doreen is survived by her sisters, Barbara Houle, Sandra M. Spoon and Geneva E. Spoon, all of Gloucester; her brother, Robert Spoon of Gloucester as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, James and George Spoon.
Doreen’s graveside service will be in Calvary Cemetery, Eastern Ave., Gloucester, on Friday, July 14, 2017, at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
