BEVERLY - Doreen M. (Powers) Collins 80, beloved wife of the late Timothy S. Collins, died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Ledgewood Health Care and Rehab. Center in Beverly.
Born, raised and educated in Gloucester, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Caroline (Wakeling) Powers.
Doreen, affectionately known by all as "Mom", dedicated her life to caring for her husband and raising her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving her are four daughters, Arlene MacIntyre and her husband, Keith of Beverly, Virginia Kennard and her husband, Timothy of Hillman, MI, Cynthia Buckley and her husband, John of Beverly and Rebecca Ruest and her longtime companion, Richard Gannett of Beverly, two sons, Bruce Collins and his wife, Linda of Danvers and Timothy W. Collins and his longtime companion, Katrina Knudson of Peabody, 16 grandchildren, 18-great grandchildren, two sisters, Alice Frazier of Gloucester and Virginia Cail of Florida, a brother, Alfred Powers and his wife, Nancy of Fla. and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Timothy S. Collins Jr. and sister of the late Robert Powers.
Her funeral service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service on Tuesday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Interment will be private.
