Edith A.'s Story
Edith A. (Critchett) Goodhue, 82, beloved wife of the late Elliott F. Goodhue, of Gloucester, passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 23, 2016.
Born in Gloucester on January 25, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Edgar F. Critchett and Catherine G. (Hutchins) Zywusko and Brownie Zywusko.
As a young lady, she had worked as a fish packer for various companies on the Jodrey State Fish Pier.
Edith enjoyed working with ceramics, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She was also a history buff and had a wide knowledge of all the past presidents and kings and queens of foreign countries.
Edith and Elliott were very generous, loving, and forgiving people who stuck to their values of hard work and honesty. She now rests with the love of her life and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Goodhue; three sons, David Goodhue, Michael Goodhue and wife, Cynthia, all of Gloucester, and Steven Goodhue of Rio Rancho, N.M.; seven grandchildren, Keith Goodhue and wife, Susan, Blair Goodhue, Alyssa Goodhue, Gregory Goodhue, all of Gloucester, Kelly Goodhue, Kristene Clines and husband, James, Kayla Goodhue and Alex Goodhue, all of Rio Rancho, N.M.; nine great-grandchildren, Sierra, Ryan, Joseph, Angel, Julian, Cassidy, Mercedes, Noah and Morgan; two sisters, Helen Surrette and husband, Albert and Barbara Reed of Gloucester; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Elliott Goodhue of 57 years, she was predeceased by her son, Glenn Goodhue; her grandson, Michael Goodhue; and two sisters Delia Parks and Catherine McKay.
Her funeral service will be held privately.
