GLOUCESTER: Elizabeth "Betty" (Boudreau) Murphy of Gloucester, passed from this life into the arms of our loving Savior on October 28, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born in Medford on May 6, 1926 to Nelson and Mary (Landry) Boudreau.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Emma Patterson, Irene Jack, Helen Gumbleton, Loretta Donnell, and her brother, Paul Boudreau.
Betty is survived by her devoted and adoring husband of 69 years, Tom; her five loving children, Thomas Murphy Jr and his wife, Eileen, Mary-Ellen Burke and her husband, Brian, Susan Murphy, Sandra Carbonneau and her husband, Donald, and her youngest daughter and constant companion, Carol Conlon and her husband, John; her 12 grandchildren, Donny, Amy, Brian, Yvonne, Elizabeth, Lisa, Sharon, Linda, Marilyn, Joseph, Tommy, and Mary; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by her brother, Stephen Boudreau.
Betty was a devout Catholic and a loving soul who deeply touched all who knew her. To her children, and especially to her husband Tom, she will forever be a shining light.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 2, at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church. Extended family and friends are cordially invited to attend. The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
