Elwood "Lee" Kramer, 93, of Rockport, husband of the late Eleanor C. (Low) Kramer passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 4, at the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Marion, Iowa on June 22, 1924, son of the late Walter and Frances (Hoover) Kramer.
Lee was a graduate of Marion High School. After high school, he went right into the military, serving proudly in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. Following the war, he went to work for Anchorage Foundries for a few years then for Arnold Morton's TV Repair as a technician.
He later began his career as a Rockport Police Officer, retiring after many years of service to his community.
Lee was a 57 year member of the Rockport Free Masons/Ashler Lodge A.F & A.M and a member of the Edward Peterson Post #98, Rockport American Legion.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Lauri Gagnon and her husband Stephen of Rochester, NH; three sons, Gerald Kramer of Rockport, Ron Kramer and his wife Joyce of Charlotte, NC and Steven Kramer of Manchester, NH; grandchildren, Jennifer, Melissa, Stephanie, Christopher, Michael, Kevin, Timothy, Dylan, Wendy, Gillian and Angela; great-grandchildren, Mason, Bryson, Katelyn, Kylie, Peyton, Killian, Kage and Kara; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine Trimble.
His Funeral Service will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester, on Thursday, January 11, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There will be no visiting hours and the burial will be held privately.
