Eugene's Story

ESSEX- Eugene H. Feener, 99, of Essex, husband of the late Muriel P. (Lumbard) Feener, passed away at his residence on Monday, January 22, 2018.
Eugene was born in Gloucester on August 18, 1918, to the late Edgar E. and Seddie May (LeSeur) Feener. Gene was a hard worker and a good carpenter. He worked as a Union carpenter and when he retired he worked on his own. When his children were young he enjoyed being out on the water in his boat with them and Muriel. Before his wife passed away they were inseparable. They enjoyed going out to dinner, shopping and were very involved with St. John the Baptist Church. He had worked on his pride and joy, a 1930 Model A Ford, for many years before he finally sold it. He will be missed. He is survived by his sons, Ronald Feener and his companion, Brenda Harrell, Brian Feener and his wife, Nancy, all of Essex; grandchildren, David Feener and his wife, Mary, Douglas Feener and his wife Kerrie-Lyn and Jessica Feener; great-grandchildren, Kathleen Madison Feener, Tyler Feener and Travis Feener. He was predeceased by his brothers, Phillip Feener and Roy Feener; his sisters, Marion Tingley, June Callahan, Phyllis Burnham and Lois Chick; and his daughter-in-law, Kathleen Mary (O'Neill) Feener. His Mass will be celebrated in St. John the Baptist Church, Essex, on Monday, January 29, 2018, at 11 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. His burial will take place in Spring Street Cemetery, Essex. Visiting hours will be held privately.
