Everett L.'s Story
Everett L. Place, 74, of Gloucester, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 at the Addison Gilbert Hospital.
Born in Gloucester on April 4, 1942, he was the son of the late Abbott V. Place Sr. and Dorothy (Babine) (Place) Currier. Abbott, Sr. was lost at sea in the Grand Banks while fishing aboard the Boston trawler Belle.
Everett attended school in Gloucester and served in the U.S. Army. For most of his life, Everett worked as a truck driver for various companies.
He is survived by his sister, Doreen Carter and husband, Roger of Rockport; his brothers, Abbott Place and wife Barbara of Merrimack, N.H., and Frederick Place of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; many nieces, nephews and cousins, including Joseph and Joanne Perry of Gloucester.
He was predeceased by his brother, Richard “Ricky” Place of Gloucester and sister, Helen Longo of Surry, Maine.
Services will be held privately.
