Rockport, Mass. - Frances M. Tarantino, 79, of Rockport, passed away on Monday evening, August 7, 2018, in the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester.
Frances was born in Gloucester, Mass. on May 6, 1939, the daughter of the late Isadore and Francesca (D’Anna) Tarantino. She was a graduate of Gloucester High School with the Class of 1957. Frances was very active with the Cape Ann Social Club and had enjoyed playing Scrabble at the Senior Center with her friends there, as well as with her family. She will be missed. She is survived by her brother Peter Tarantino of Danvers, her niece, Marianne Oshiro, who helped take care of her affairs; along with nieces Frances Jean Alexander, Theresa Haggett; nephews, John Tarantino, Gino Soper and Paul Soper, as well as great-nieces, great-nephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. She also leaves two special ladies, Jane and Kristen, who were there when she reached out and needed to talk. She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Vince and John Tarantino; sister Anne (Tarantino) Soper; two nieces, Francesca Spain, Frances Ann Laska and two nephews, John and Isadore Tarantino.
A visiting hour will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester, MA on Saturday, August 11, from 8-30 to 9:30 a.m. with a service to follow at 9:30 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited.
