Elk Grove, CA - Frederick K. Abell, 60, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 28, 2019, in Elk Grove, Calif. He was born in Gloucester on August 13, 1958, to the late Edward J. Abell Sr. and Kathleen (Fears) Abell.
Fred graduated from Rockport High School, class of 1977. Shortly after graduating, he went to work as a Field Service Technician for Varian/Extrion in Gloucester, Mass. He relocated to California in 1981 and continued to work for several hi-tech companies throughout his career. Fred will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his significant other, Autumn Dong; his brothers Edward J. Abell Jr. and his wife Marjorie of Gloucester, Stephen D. Abell, and Lyle R. Abell, both of Rockport. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Jane Abell Grover.
Following cremation, private graveside services will be held at Beech Grove Cemetery in Rockport at a later date.

Fred would often pick me up for the drive to North Shore CC when my $&@!box wasn’t running or Mrs needed the car. He always said “no problem brah”. My thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones.....RIP Brah

I remember Fred from the late 70s at Extrion..I was a supervisor for him and a few other summer interns. Fred was a good worker.., pleasant, kind, hard working and a very conscientious person. I am sorry to hear of his passing and express my sincere regrets to all of his family.
