GLOUCESTER, MA : George C. of Gloucester, Mass., passed away Saturday, August 15, in Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, Fla. Born in Gloucester, December 23, 1939, he was the only son of James and Muriel Patience. He graduated from Gloucester High School, Class of 1958. He worked at Quincy Market/Americold Storage Company in Gloucester for 30 years. He was an avid athlete in high school. He played on the championship football team that went to the Orange Bowl 1957. George enjoyed golfing and playing cards. His favorite thing was playing Bingo. He loved all of his dogs. He is survived by beloved wife of 55 years, Sally. Two daughters, Susan Patience of Fort Myers, and Kim Patience of Gloucester. He is survived by many nephews and one niece; brothers and sisters-in-law, Linda and John Geary, George and Daphanie Roark of Gloucester, William and Pat Roark of North Carolina, and Einar Erlendsson of Florida. He was predeceased by Nancy Erlendsson.
A memorial service will take place at a later date in Florida. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be make to Cape Ann Animal Aide, 4 Paws lane, Gloucester, MA, or The American Cancer Society.
