George W.'s Story
George W. Taylor, 80, of Gloucester, husband of the late Nina M. (Randazza) Taylor, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage, passed away peacefully at home.
George was born in Ipswich, Mass., on September 25, 1937, son of the late Elwood and Violet (Clancy) Taylor. He worked most of his life as a shellfish fisherman retiring in his 70s.
He was a true outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing and had a great knowledge of nature. Some of his favorite pastimes were tending to his vegetable garden, watching the patriots, bruins and boxing, or sharing stories of his youth.
George will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his children, George Taylor Jr. and his wife, Debbie, Joyce Lewis, Lori Garces and her husband, Juan; grandchildren, Bobby, Jessica, Matthew, Nicole, Christopher, Tyler and Tanya; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Brianna and Isabella; his brother, Paul Taylor; and sisters, Leone Mansfield and Ann Robinson.
He was predeceased by his son, David Taylor who passed away in March of this year; and five brothers, Elwood Jr, Edward, John, Charles and Robert.
The family wishes to thank all his wonderful nurses and caregivers, Cindy Moses, Sandra Simon, the hospice of Care Dimensions and SHICS Health Care.
His Graveside Service will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester on Monday, November 27, at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
