Gerald M.'s Story
Gerald M. Ruta, 54, of Beverly passed away Monday evening, November 21, 2016, at his late residence. Born in Gloucester, he was the dear son of Lois Ann (McGillivary) Ruta of Beverly and the late Jennarino “JR” Ruta. He graduated from Salem State University, receiving his Bachelors of Science.
Gerald was employed as a heavy machine operator for many years.
He was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. His happiest of moments were spent laughing with his family at Sunday dinners in between sport games. Some of the happiest moments were the times shared with his two nieces, Jenna and Helena, whom he considered his daughters.
Surviving him are two sisters, Julianne Koper of Gloucester and Mary Ann Ruta of Beverly; three nieces, Stephanie Ruta of Gloucester, Jenna Ruta and Helena Sutherland of Beverly; two nephews, Shaun Koper and Bradley Ruta of Gloucester; his great-niece and nephew, Kaiya and Kristjan Koper, both of Gloucester and his beloved dog, Hayes. He was also predeceased by his brother, Stephen F. Ruta.
