Gregory P.'s Story
Mr. Gregory P. Romanuk, 62, of Gloucester, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in Lahey Clinic Burlington following a brief illness. He was the husband of Gail A. (Elwell) Romanuk with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.
Gregory was born September 1, 1955 in Salem. He is the son of the late Peter and Ruth (Leinbach) Romanuk. He was a graduate of Tamp Bay Technical School where he studied auto body. Greg was a resident of Gloucester for the past 39 years previously residing in Florida.
He worked as a Machinist at Arwood Machine Corporation in Newburyport for over 20 years having to retire due to ill health.
He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Greg will be remembered as a hard working, kind, loving man who enjoyed fresh water fishing and his ice fishing trips with the Kimball’s. He also enjoyed gardening and was an all around handy man who was always willing to help anyone.
In addition to his loving wife, Gail, Gregory is survived by his two sons, Gregory P. Romanuk, Jr. and his wife Kendra and James Marshall and his wife Kelly, his daughter, Amy Malaquias and her husband Mike, all of Gloucester; his four sisters, Leina DeSimone of Peabody, Sandra Harvey of Salem, Sherry Maltese of Florida, and Marsha Pothof of Tennessee. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Gregory’s visiting hours will be in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester on Tuesday evening, September 19, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. His interment in Dolliver Memorial Cemetery will be private.
