Herman A.'s Story
On March 11, Herman Allan Faulk, Jr., 87, "Bud" to all who knew and loved him, of Beverly Hills, Fla., and Frye Island, Maine, moved on to the land beyond with eternal great hunting, fishing and golf. Bud had been in declining health for several years but his interest in life and family was always foremost. Bud was the son of Herman and Hilda (Thorngren) Faulk. He graduated Gloucester public schools and Worcester Academy, then later completed a program at Wentworth College, Boston. He also served his country as a member of the National Guard. For many years, he and his wife, Doris Christine (Lilja) Faulk, resided in Plum Cove, Lanesville and raised three children. His son, Glenn and his wife, Jennifer (Glunz) live in Glencoe, Ill.; his daughter, Elaine and her husband, Gregory MacLean live in Merrimac, Mass.; and his daughter, Linda and her husband, Robert Barnes live in North Andover, Mass. Bud assumed leadership of Faulk Bros. Masonry/Construction Co. upon the retirement of his father, Herman, Sr. and his uncle, Alston Faulk. He was a board member of the Cape Ann Savings Bank, Lions Club, Cape Ann Sportsman Club and a lifelong member of the Masons. He was an avid golfer with club titles at the Rockport Country Club, Bass Rocks Country Club, and Frye Island Country Club. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman in Essex County and in Maine at Lakes Nicatous and Sebago. He is survived by five grandchildren, Kellyann (MacLean) Bellemore, Dawn (Barnes) Munroe, Timothy Barnes, Alan MacLean, Steven MacLean; and seven great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held in Rockport.
