James H.'s Story
James H. “Jack” Lally, 76, husband of Josephine T. (Pierzchala) Lally of Gloucester, passed away on Thursday morning, April 27, 2017, at his residence with his loving wife by his side.
He was born in Boston on September 30, 1940, son of the late Francis and Genevieve (Kennedy) Lally.
Jack was a graduate of Avon High School. Following High School, he served in the United States Marine Corps having received the Good Conduct Medal.
He worked for many years as an electrician for the Local 103 and later at NOAA maintaining the automotive fleet.
Jack and Josephine moved here in the 80’s from Streator, Illinois. It only took one time for them to visit here, visiting Hammond’s Castle and having a sandwich from Scalafani’s sitting by the ocean to know this is where they would make their home together.
Jack had a passion for gardening, travelling, reading, theater and music and most of all spending time with his wife, family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Josephine Lally of Gloucester; daughters, Kathleen Parks of Missouri and Annmarie Perley of Canada; grandchildren, Caitlyn Paige Parks, Adam Parks, Shane Marr and Lance Marr; great-grandchild, Ezra Parks; sisters, Bonnie Grover and Patricia Vallerio; brothers, George Lally, Fred Lally, Mark Lally and David Lally and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brother, Francis Lally Jr.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visiting hours or services.
