James Joseph's Story

James J. Douville, 94, passed away peacefully Monday, February 6, 2017, at Woodbine Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Jim was born in Muncie, Ind., and raised in Wellesley, Mass., the son of Henry and Marie (Hope). Jim graduated with a degree in economics from Northeastern University and was employed by Avco. In later years he was an office manager at the Windsor Press in Wellesley, Mass.
A resident of Newton, Mass., Jim enjoyed singing in the choir for Corpus Christi Church and later for church and community choirs in Avon Park, Fla. He also enjoyed photography, camping, and travel via train and cruise ship. In retirement, he lived in Rockport, Mass., summered in North Bridgton, Maine, and wintered in Avon Park, Fla. Later in life he lived at the Hermitage in Northern Virginia retirement community, Alexandria, Va.
Jim was predeceased by his wife, Arline. He is survived by his son, Brian and his wife, Cherri Hall; his son, Kevin and his wife, Rosemary Moulton; his daughter, Charlene Patey and her husband, Eric; his sister, Jean Templeton; his grandchildren, Matthew, Rebecca, and Sarah Patey; his nephew, Larry Templeton and his wife, Sandy, and their daughter, Victoria Ricci and her husband, Filipe, and daughter, Brianna; his niece, Lyn Nielsen and her husband, Steven, and their daughter, Kimberly Gordon, and her husband, Glenn, and son, Griffin, and their son, Erik and his wife, Kara, and son, Jack.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1427 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA. Reception to follow at Hermitage in Northern Virginia, 5000 Fairbanks Ave., Alexandria, VA.
A second memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8, in Rockport, Mass.
