James R.'s Story
James R. Muise, 75, husband of Susan S. (Goodhue) Muise of Western Avenue, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, following his long illness.
Born in Ipswich March 2, 1942, son of the late Donald and Mary E. (Quinn) Muise, he was raised in Essex and was a 1961 graduate of Gloucester High School. He served three years in the U.S. Army, married in 1963 and upon his honorable discharge the Muises made their home and raised their family in Essex. For 35 years he was employed as a mechanical assembler at Gloucester Engineering.
He was a loving husband, father and worshipped his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Susan, of 54 years he is survived by a son, James D. Muise and his fiancée, Kathi Coper of Essex; a daughter, Keri E. Muise-Phipps and her husband, Michael of Kensington, N.H.; and two grandchildren, Ryan J. and Leah D. Phipps, both of Kensington, N.H. He was the brother of the late Donald Muise, formerly of Essex, and Christine Pelletier, formerly of Ipswich.
