Mrs. Jane E. Haskell, 69, of Rockport, passed away on Monday August 14, 2017 at home following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of James E. Haskell with whom she shared 37 years of marriage.
Janey was born June 1, 1948 in Gloucester and was raised by her grandparents Charles and Clara “Taire” Ramsey. She Graduated from Gloucester High and was a resident of Gloucester for most of her life before moving to Rockport.
She worked as a Waitress at multiple restaurants on Cape Ann, including the Blacksmith shop and more recently the Hearthside, for many years until having to retire due to health complications.
She loved working in her gardens during the spring, summer and fall months as well as taking care of all the wild birds in the back yard year-round. She was an outstanding cook and baker and we ate very well. She also enjoyed visiting with her close friend, “Niecey” Nancy J. Loudon at Grand View Farm out in Townsend, where she overcame her fear of horses thanks to the Dutchess Annie.

Haskell and his fiancé Joanne Passias of Taunton, her brothers-in-law, Peter Haskell and his wife, Claudia of Rockport and John Haskell and his wife Gus of Connecticut; her sister-in-law, Karen Hampson and her husband, Mike of Port St. Lucy, Fla. Her uncle, Phil Ramsey and his wife, Marilyn of SC, her cousins Marilyn Ramsey-Burkhart of SC, Phil Roland and his wife Susan of S.C., Eloweise Hitchcock of Tennessee and Pamela Nelson-Ramsey of New Hampshire as well as many nieces and nephews.
