Karen Jean Viator Winslow, 51, of Alpharetta, Ga., passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, October 17, 2016, after a long and courageous battle, surrounded by the love of her friends and family.
Karen was a certified Pilates instructor, Personal Trainer and Nutritional Counselor who loved fitness and nutrition. She also loved to cook, bake and entertain, and had mastered the art of shrimp and grits. She was also a kitchen and bath designer by trade.
Karen was preceded in death by her aunt, Helen Viator Ellis.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen C. Winslow, and beloved boxer, Salty Paws of Alpharetta, Ga.; mother, Phyllis Drury Viator of Cumming, Ga.; father and stepmother, Gerald and Joyce Viator of St. Louis, Mo.; brother, Gerald Jr., his wife, Tiffany, and their daughter, Nicole Viator of Cary, N.C.; sister, Cheryl Bolchez and Michael Bolchez of Charleston, S.C., and Cheryl's children, Christopher and Regina Johnson; uncle and godfather, Gene Viator of Gloucester, Mass.; and many other extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Peachtree Christian Church of Atlanta, Ga. Interment will follow the funeral at 2 p.m. at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens in Cumming, Ga.
The family will receive friends at their residence on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.
