GLOUCESTER: Kathleen M. “Kay” (MacLean) Snyder, 93, of Gloucester, passed away Monday September 28, 2015, in the Golden Living Center of Gloucester after a lengthy illness.
Kay was born January 12, 1922 in Inverness, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, daughter of the late Neil S. and Flora A. (Gillis) MacLean. She came to the United States November 11, 1939 and resided in Gloucester. She was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1940. She was a beautiful person inside and out and will be missed by all who lives she touched.
She worked at the Cape Ann Savings Bank for 38 years, she began her career as a teller and retired in 1987 as the Assistant Treasurer.
She is survived by her sister, F. Caroline Nikolich and her husband, Branko of Satellite Beach, Fla. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including her favorite nephew Stanley MacLean of Gloucester and her devoted longtime friends, Jean and Mel Mason and Esta Nickas.
She was the sister of the late Stanley, Maurice, Archie, Ralph and John Dan MacLean and aunt of the late Neil MacLean.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Golden Living Center for their outpouring of love and support to Kay while she was there.
Kay’s graveside service will be on Friday morning October 2, 2015 in the Beechbrook Cemetery, Essex Ave (Route 133) Gloucester at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Kay’s memory be made to the Lupus Foundation of New England, 40 Speen St. #101 Framingham, MA 01701.
