GLOUCESTER: Mrs. Kathryn E. “Kay” (Lane) Tarr, 89, of Gloucester passed away on Saturday afternoon in Seacoast Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Arthur M. Tarr, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.
Kay was born December 7, 1925, in Gloucester. She was the daughter of the late Rodney D. and Marjorie F. (Harris) Lane. She was a resident of Essex for the past 14 years, and previously resided in Gloucester. She attended Gloucester Public Schools.
She worked for Gorton’s of Gloucester as a fish packer for 43 years, until her retirement December of 1987.
She was a longtime member of the Seafood Retiree’s Club.
Kay is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Jean Tarr of Gloucester, Stephen Lane and his wife, Joanne, Robert Lane, and Norman Doucette. She is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Phyllis Tarr, Rodney H. Lane and his wife, Evelyn; aunt of the late Stephanie Lane.
Kay’s Funeral Service will be on Friday, November 6, 2015, in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be on Friday morning from 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Wesleyan Cemetery, Gloucester. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
