Lori A. Mitchell, 56, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully in Addison Gilbert Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Lori was born January 23, 1961, in Danvers. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester, a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1979. She was the daughter of Jerry and Mary E. (Erwin) Pallazolla of Gloucester.

Due to Lori’s health she was not able to do many things, but her true enjoyment came from the time she spent with her family and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed beautiful sunny days as well as visiting local beaches. Lori held a special place in her heart for the Fort. She grew up down the Fort and had great memories of all the time including the reunions at the Fort, right up until the time she passed.

In addition to her loving and devoted mother and father, Mary and Jerry, Lori is survived by her loving daughter, Shawna E. Middleton and her husband, David “Dee” Middleton, Jr. of Essex; her brother, Robert C. Pallazolla and his wife, Frances of Danvers; her sisters, Dina M. Serrin and her husband, Paul G. and Carol B. Pallazolla, all of Gloucester; her devoted grandchildren, Janaya J. Cluney, Jaleesa A. Middleton, Tyrone M. Middleton, Gianna M. Middleton and the late Marcus Middleton, who passed away as an infant. She is also survived by many nieces, Ember McGuire, Alyse Serrin, Stephany and Daniella Pallazolla; her nephew, Samuel Pallazolla; as well as her longtime devoted friends, Joyce Phinney, Janey Branceleone and Annette Tarantino. She is also survived by her former husband, William J. Mitchell, Jr. of Essex.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Addison Gilbert Hospital for their love, support and care that was shown to Lori.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Lori’s Memorial Mass on Friday, May 5, 2017, at Holy Family Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Prospect Street, Gloucester at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
