Louie A.'s Story
Louie passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017. He was born March 20, 1948, in the island of Faial, Azores, Portugal, the son of the late Manuel T. and Maria C. (Da Silva) Gaipo. He was a resident of Gloucester, Mass., for 54 years then moved to California to be with his daughter and grandchildren. Louie loved racing homing pigeons, walking around downtown Gloucester and having coffee at Dunkin Donuts with his friends, but there was nothing Louie loved more than his children and grandchildren. He always had a smile on his face and could make you laugh even in the saddest of days. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by many. Louie is survived by his two daughters, Chamee Walker and her husband, Chance Walker Sr., Mary Theresa Gaipo of Texas; his three sons, Louie Gaipo Jr. and his wife, Holly Gaipo of Texas, Christopher Gaipo and his wife, Sothy Gaipo of Tyngsboro, Mass., Jonathan Gaipo of Gloucester, Mass.; his cherished grandchildren, Candalyne, Chloe and Chance Jr. Walker, Caroline, Alex and Ava Gaipo of Gloucester and Tyngsboro, Mass., Brett, Julia and Dylan Gaipo of Gloucester, and Marcus Gaipo of Texas. He is also survived by his brother, Manuel O. Gaipo and his wife, Gerry of Gloucester; and his sister, Maria Bernazzani and her husband, Louis of Danvers, Mass.; his special cousin, Jose DaSilva of Gloucester; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 6, 2017, in California and in Gloucester at a later date.
