GLOUCESTER - Mrs. Margaret A. (White) "Peggy" Johnson, 93, of Gloucester, passed away on Sunday afternoon, January 21, 2018 in Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the loving wife of the late Charles "Charlie" Johnson with whom she shared 29 years of marriage.
Peggy was born December 2, 1924 in Winchester. She is the daughter of the late Walter J. and Ann (McDermott) White. She grew up in Stoneham and graduated from Immaculate Conception.
Peggy worked as an assembler for Varian for many years before retiring.
Peggy is survived by her stepdaughter, Marie C. Johnson Eveleth of Haverhill. Her step grandchildren, Marie Ann Pramataris of Amesbury, Kendra L. Casey of Lawrence, Amanda L. Vicente of Saugus, Robert C. Eveleth, Jr. of Haverhill, Alysha L. Lessor of Buxton, Maine, Shane M. Davis, Jr. of Haverhill, Christina Haight and Richard Haight, both of Gloucester. She is also survived by her 14 step great-grandchildren, one step great-great-granddaughter; her cousins, Murrie Hubbard and his wife, Sally of Rhode Island, Joanne Damrath of Derry, NH, Cathy Matthews Dudak of Nashua, NH, Richard Hubbard, Karen Hubbard and James McDermott of Cape Cod as well as her friend Shelley Lovasco.
In addition to her loving husband, Charlie and her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her step daughter, Barbara L. Johnson Dinan.
Peggy's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish in St. Ann's Church, Prospect St., Gloucester, on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. There will be a time of visitation in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester on Friday prior to the Mass beginning at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
