Marie C. Frontiero Gloucester - Marie C. (Arvilla) Frontiero, 93, of Gloucester, wife of the late Captain Charles J. Frontiero passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Marie was born in Gloucester, on April 8, 1925 the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Pimental) Arvilla. Marie grew up on Portagee Hill and attended the Heldreth and Sawyer Schools as a young girl. She graduated from Gloucester High School, with the class of 1941.
She worked at LePages for ten years. She was a dedicated mother to her family and looked forward to Sunday dinners and holiday open house gatherings. She really enjoyed cooking up a storm for everyone. Marie frequently attended Mass at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church. Everyone would look at Marie's smile and would ketch that smile right back.
Marie is survived by her son, Charles "Chuck" Frontiero of Gloucester; one granddaughter, Kim Marie Phetteplace and great-granddaughter, Awenydd Whitehall both of Eugene, Oregon; one sister, Ethel Sortop of West Palm Beach, Fla., one brother, Francis Arvilla of Gloucester and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Rose Marie Saunders, two sisters, Veronica Field and Caroline Quadros and three brothers, Joseph, Manuel and Clifford Arvilla.
Marie's Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect Street, Gloucester on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 12 p.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. Her burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester. Visiting hours will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marie's name may be made to the Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester.

AUNT MARIE WAS RELATED TO ME BY MY UNCLE CHARLES SHE ALWAYS HAD A BEAUTIFUL SMILE FOR EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY WITH THOSE BIG DEEP DIMPLES, SHE WAS EASY TO LOVE, AND WE DID LOVE HER VERY MUCH! SO SORRY !

I lived across the street at 65 Taylor Street. Veronica was closst to me and I do remember Marie and how beautiful she was.
