Marion's Story

MANCHESTER : Marion R. (Williams) Drohan, 93, wife of the late Russell F. Drohan, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Bay Bulls Newfoundland, Canada, on April 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Margaret (Murphy) Williams. She immigrated to Gloucester in 1926, and received her citizenship in 1944.

She is survived by her grandson, Robert Foley Jr. and his wife, Mary of Manchester; great-grandsons, Ben and Evan Foley; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Paula F. Foley and her husband, Robert C. Foley; her brothers, Theodore and William Williams; her sisters, Esther Mattson and Margaret McHenry.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 3, at 1 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery, where she will be reunited with her husband of 63 years, Russell. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Friends of Seacoast, Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 292 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA 01930.
