Mark B.'s Story
Mark B. Ross, 58, beloved husband of Joy E. (Preston) Ross, died Saturday at his home surrounded with the love of his family following his battle with cancer.
Born in Salem, he was the son of Russell and the late Natalie (Abraham) Ross and brother of Michael “Mickey” and the late Russell “Rusty” Ross, Jr. Although raised in Salem, Mark found his soul mate at the age of sixteen and fell in love. He adopted not only Joy’s family but also her friends and love for her hometown of Essex.
Mark also leaves his two sons, Michael and his wife, Katie (Crosby) Ross of Topsfield and Paul and his wife, Noelle (Borchin) Ross of Essex; and four grandchildren, Bethany, Jared, Casey and Jack, all who were the light of his life. Mark was a father figure to many, devoted friend, and someone who was always ready to lend a hand, advice or just an ear to listen. His many nieces, nephews, siblings-in-law, coworkers and friends will feel this loss of a wonderful man.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, 4 to 6 p.m. in the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home, 6 High St., Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Interment will be private. For directions or to leave a condolence, please visit www.whittier-porter.com.
