GLOUCESTER: Mark W. Ingersoll, 51, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, September 18, 2015, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Gloucester on September 24, 1963, son of George and Donna (Norwood) Ingersoll of Gloucester.

Mark was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1982.

He was employed for John B. Wright Company for over 20 years as a truck driver, and for six years at Crystal Steel in Middleton.

Mark enjoyed spending time with his girls, taking rides around Cape Ann in his red Barbie truck with his co-pilot, playing Keno and having coffee at Tony's, taking rides with his father, his great adventures on his motorcycle and having a few with friends. He was always willing to help others, whether it be driving to Vermont and New Hampshire for his girls, or getting ice for cookouts and picnics. His acts of kindness never seemed to end. He was known for his laugh and infectious smile.

He was a member of the Gloucester Fraternity Club and the Cape Ann Moose Lodge #1471, where he often played Santa Claus at the Christmas Parties.

Mark will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by the love of his life, Debra Hawes; daughters, Natasha Ingersoll and her fiancé, Brett Dale, and Alyssa Ingersoll and her boyfriend, Cameron Miles; his parents, George and Donna Ingersoll; sister, MaryBeth Ingersoll; two brothers, Jay Ingersoll, Bruce Ingersoll and his companion, Susan Oliver; great-aunt, Alice Newfal; Debbie’s brothers, Robert Hawes, Thomas Hawes, Ronald Hawes and his wife, Susan; his co-pilot dog, Roxiee; nephews, Wayne Ingersoll, Bryan Ingersoll, Tyler Ingersoll; nieces, Ashley- Marie Ingersoll, Jessica Churchill and husband, Jon; great-niece and great-nephews, Kyriah Smithson, Camron Smithson, and Bryce Churchill; other extended family; close friends, James Lane, Billy Frontiero, Eddie Roaden, Keno Steve, David Tupman, Richard Trioli; and more too numerous to name.

He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Mary-Ellen (Orlando) Ingersoll.

His memorial service will be held in the Gloucester United Methodist Church, 436 Washington Street, Gloucester on Friday, September 25, at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There will be no visiting hours and the burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Cape Ann Animal Aid Association, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930.
