Mark S. “Whitey” White, Jr., 40, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017 following a brief illness.
Mark was born March 2, 1977 in Gloucester. He was a graduate of the Gloucester High School, Class of 1996, and had recently been pursuing his passion of becoming a barber, studying at New England Hair Academy. After growing up in Gloucester, Mark spent most of the past 7 years in Wenham, spending a brief time in Spring Hill, Fla.
Whitey was a kind, gentle person who had a great love for his family, friends and animals. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh. He was a devoted Boston fan, always loyal to the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins as well as the Celtics.
Mark is survived by his mother and father, Deborah (Barnes) and Eric Wilks of Wenham, and his father, Mark S. White. He is also survived by his sister, Aimee J. White and her longtime companion, Sheldon Wiggins of Spring Hill, FL, his brother Chad M. White of Gloucester; his niece Ashley Wiggins; his grandfather, Robert Wilks of Wenham, his grandmother, Mary White as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by grandparents Earl and Dorothy Barnes, Herbert White, and Priscilla Wilks.
Mark’s visiting hours will be in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester, on Friday evening, September 8, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. His Graveside Service will be on Saturday morning, September 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in Beechbrook Cemetery, Essex Ave., Gloucester.
