Mary A. (Scola) Landry

Mary A. (Scola) Landry Beverly - Mrs. Mary A. (Scola) Landry, 92, of Beverly, formerly of Gloucester, passed away on Sunday evening, October 7, 2018, in Lahey Clinic Medical Center following a brief illness. She is the wife of the late Maurice Landry with whom she shared 15 years of marriage.

Mary was born April 24, 1926, in Gloucester. She is the daughter of the late Gaetano and Rosalie (Palazola) Scola. She was a resident of Gloucester for many years before moving to Beverly in 2002. Mary and her daughter both received their G.E.D.’s together.

She worked on the Gloucester waterfront for North Atlantic Seafood Company as a fish packer for many years until her retirement. She also worked at the former Mike’s Pastry on Main Street.

Mary was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Voyage Church for many years. She treasured the time she spent with her loving family. She was an avid Red Sox Fan. Mary also enjoyed her time spent on Cape Cod in Chatham with her son Philip visiting many close friends.

Mary is survived by her son Philip M. Parisi of Beverly; her daughter Florence Curcio and her husband Joseph of Gloucester; and her sister-in-law Vincie Scola of Gloucester. Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her brothers, Sebastian “Busty” Scola, Matthew “Spikey” Scola, and Salvatore “Sam” Scola; her sisters Josephine Parisi, Grace Orlando, and Rose Ciulla.

Mary’s visitation will be in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester, on Thursday, October 11, 2018, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect St., Gloucester, on Thursday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
