Mary Lou Joseph
She was born in Gloucester on March 19, 1933, daughter of the late William and Lillian (Baxter) Killey.
Mary Lou was a graduate of Gloucester High School, class of 1951. In her early years, she worked as a telephone operator and later as a supervisor at Strong Leather.
She enjoyed cooking, especially for all of her children and their friends. The more people she had around the house the happier she was. She always had an open door policy.
Mary Lou also loved to play a good game of scrabble and tackling crossword puzzles.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary Lou is survived by three daughters, Roni Michele Joseph, Patti Joseph and her wife Mary Lawlor, Lori Jean Thorstensen and her husband Lee, all of Gloucester; two sons, Philip Joseph and his fiancée Annie Keane and Gary Joseph, all of Gloucester; two grandsons, Philip Joseph Jr. and his wife Lauren, Bryan Joseph and his fiancée Melissa Unis, who are expecting Mary Lou's first great-grandchild, Bryan William Joseph Jr., all of Gloucester; her sister, Natalie Linquata and her husband Sebastian; her brother, Major Eugene Killey, USAF, Retired of Wisconsin; her daughter-in-law, Joanne Joseph of Gloucester; her very special friend, Priscilla Cunningham; the special people in her daily life, Roberta, Kimberly, Michael, Tim and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She was predeceased by her former husband and friend, Ronald M. Joseph and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish, on Wednesday, April 17, at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery following the Mass.
In keeping with Mary Lou's wishes, there will be no visiting hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Cape Ann Animal Aid Association, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930.
