Mildred S. (Anderson)'s Story
Mrs. Mildred S. (Anderson) Lewis, 93, of Gloucester, passed away on September 26, 2017 in Seacoast Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late former Gloucester City Councilor Manuel Lewis.
She was born April 7, 1924 in Gloucester. Mildred was the daughter of the late John and Esther (Brewer) Anderson. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and was a graduate of Gloucester High School Class of 1942.
She worked at Gorton’s as a fish packer for 40 years until her retirement. She previously worked at Action, Inc. caring for the elderly.
She served on the board of directors at Cape Ann Animal Aide. She enjoyed bowling, she also enjoyed traveling, swimming, going to the beach, playing cribbage Wednesday evenings at the American Legion in Gloucester.
She is survived by her step daughter Marilyn Mazeika of Ariz.; her brother, Peter W. Anderson of Tuftonboro, NH. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late John L. Anderson.
Mildred’s graveside Service will in Beechbrook Cemetery, Essex Ave., Gloucester, on Friday, October 13, 2017, at 4 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
