Nancy's Story

METHUEN: Nancy H. (Carter) LaCrosse, 75, of Methuen passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Waltham and was the daughter of the late Robert A. and Alice C. (Horne) Carter, and the widow of Stewart LaCrosse.

Nancy was very involved with her local elderly community. Most recently she donated 42 handmade afghans to residents at a Haverhill nursing home. She lived to entertain her family and friends and always strived for perfection. She liked to crochet and took pride in everything she made. Nancy loved to play the piano and guitar, often being the center of attention at any gathering, getting everyone to sing along. She was very devoted to her family and friends and will be missed by all.

Nancy is survived by her sons, Robert L. Winegar and his wife, Michelle of Methuen, Scott W. Payne and Michael J. Payne, both of Woburn; her cherished grandchildren, Robert L. Winegar, Jr., Daniel F. Winegar and his fiancé, Cheryl Harvey, Jayson T. Winegar and his longtime girlfriend, Candice Mcguire, Melana A. Winegar and Jared B. Winegar; and her seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her sisters, Ervene Harding of Braintree and Margaret “Peggy” O’ Malley of Gloucester, Mass. Nancy was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Marie Peterson; and sister, Suzanne Carter.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours and services on Thursday, October 1, 2015, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen.
