Rockport - Neil A. Eastwood, of Rockport, passed away at the Kaplan Hospice Family House in Danvers, Mass., on Tuesday, March 26, 2019. Neil was born in Lancashire England, son of the late Harry and Muriel (Cope) Eastwood.
Neil attended Haileyburg College and went on to do National Service as a Lieutenant in the East Lancashire Regiment and was stationed in Germany. He trained boys from Remand School in the Outward Bound courses in Snowdonia. He then gained a degree in Textiles from Manchester University. He went onto work in the Textile industry. Soon after he joined an American Company as a Consultant. In this capacity he worked at Britain's United Shoe where he was asked to come to America to work at United Shoe as a Director of Manufacturing. He worked at United Shoe in Beverly until he retired at 67. He was a sports fanatic and became Army Champion and 3 "A" champion in shot and discus. Neil loved to play cricket, rugby football and tennis. He was a dedicated husband, a loving father to his children and grandchildren.
His other loves were his dogs and they were a dear part of his life. Ballou, Skye, and Sadie will miss him very much. In addition to his wife Carole with whom they shared 58 years of marriage, Neil is survived by four sons, Ross and his wife Paula, Duncan, Gary and Angus Eastwood, one daughter, Joanne Eastwood and husband Chris; three grandchildren, Coby, Mitchell and Devon; his sister Cilla Lane of St. Annes Lancashire, U.K.
The Eastwood family would like to send their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Pawson, the staff of Senior Care at Addison Gilbert Hospital and the excellent care given by the staff of the Kaplan House in Danvers.


A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 4, at 11 a.m., in the First Congregational Church, 12 School Street, Rockport, MA. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made of a charity of one's choosing. Arrangements are by Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester.
