Nicholas A. "Nick"'s Story
Nicholas A. “Nick” Mineo, age 81, of Carlisle, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 10, 1935, in Trapani, Sicily, Italy to the late Frank P. and Giulia (Figuccio) Mineo.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carole A. Mitchell Mineo of Carlisle; a daughter, Lois A. (and husband, Steven) Kuntz of Carlisle; a sister, Adriana Aiello of Gloucester, Mass.; four grandchildren, Jeremy M. Kuntz, Daniel L. Zeckman, Rebecca L. Kuntz and Jessica M. Clayton; seven great-grandchildren, Madisan, Quentin, Alajiah, Myanna, Tae-Shaun, Cierra and Tymier; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie A. Zechman; a brother, Santo P. Mineo; and two sisters, Lucy Puccio and Catherine Denaro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at the U.S. Army War College Memorial Chapel, Carlisle Barracks, PA with Rev. Gregory J. D’Emma, Col., USA (ret.) officiating. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA with full military honors. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA, with a Christian wake service at 7:30 p.m.
