Orient E. (Moses)'s Story
Mrs. Orient E. (Moses) Provost, 84, of Gloucester passed away peacefully at Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family.
Orient was born October 8, 1932. She was the daughter of the late James and Helen (Joseph) Moses. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and a graduate of Gloucester High School. Orient went on to further study at New England School of Medicine.
She worked as a lab technician prior to getting married and starting a family.
Orient enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She helped her dad at Uncle Moe’s and was proud of her Lebanese heritage. She also enjoyed cooking Lebanese food and listening to Lebanese music. Orient was an avid sports fan, reader and enjoyed playing cards. You could often see Orient sitting in front of her house, and all the neighbors would come over to her home.
She is survived by her three children, Robert Provost of Gloucester, Michele Murray and her husband, David of Gloucester and Marc Provost and his wife, Victoria of Hamilton; her cherished grandchildren, Michael, Emily, Josephine, Rosamaria, Carla, Ella, Allison, and Naomi Provost and Evan Moses; her daughter-in-law, Rose Provost of Gloucester; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her son, Michael Provost; her brothers, James “Moe,” Robert, John and Thomas Moses and her sister, Rita Strescino.
Orient’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Prospect Street, Gloucester on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
